The state’s largest small business group says Diaz understands the issues Florida small business owners face.

Today, the Manny Diaz Campaign announced the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)/Safe America’s Free Enterprise (SAFE) Trust Political Action Committee. Diaz is seeking a third term in the Florida House of Representatives. He was elected to the District 103 seat in 2012.

“Small business owners are facing huge workers compensation hikes from bad Florida Supreme Court opinions. Electing a pro-small business legislature has never been more important,” said Bill Herrle, NFIB/Florida Executive Director, in an announcement about their endorsement of Diaz and other candidates in South Florida. “The endorsed candidates have demonstrated that they genuinely understand the challenges that small business owners in Florida are facing.”

NFIB is Florida’s largest small business association. With over 10,000 small businesses in Florida, the endorsement brings substantial grassroots supports along with it. The decision to back Diaz was based on a candidate interview and questionnaire regarding key issues affecting small business, including healthcare, taxes, tort reform, and regulatory issues.

“Small business creates two out of three jobs for Florida’s economy, so it’s important that we have a legislature that supports small business and supports free enterprise,” Herrle added.

“I am proud to have the support of NFIB,” said Diaz. “It is imperative that Florida’s business climate is friendly to free enterprise. That means we’ve got to keep taxes low and make sure excessive regulations are not a barrier to new job growth. I look forward to working with NFIB to keep Florida a great place to do business.”
